I can’t take it anymore! I gotta smile!

march-22-029.jpg

So today Greyson again had periods of being awake and playful.  I got this great picture while I was playing (well sort of playing as I was trying to play without having him move around much).  I’m not sure there is much more to say.  How’s Greyson doing?  Look at the picture.  How are mom and dad doing?  Pretty good when you look at the picture.

Greyson did have a bad episode today.  We are unsure what caused it but while Stacy was playing with him he suddenly turned purple and was very unhappy.  His g-tube bubbled and we think maybe it was just bad gas pain.  The good news is he didn’t de-sat while he was doing it, but his incision turned a weird purple.  We are not sure what that was all about but he is OK.

We got to further our medical training today.  Stacy unhooked Greyson from the ventilator and bagged him, while I suctioned him.  Then I bagged him before Stacy hooked him back up so I could learn to do it.  The RT said we did great.

They started Greyson feeding again (through his new g-tube) so we are anxious to see how he tolerates it.  Hopefully he will do fine and it will help speed the healing process.  Greyson will have his first trach change wednesday and from that point on we should be on the fast track home!  **editors note:  Fast track is not always as “fast” as one would like, but we are definately getting close!

OK, in my opinion this could be one of the best pics of Greyson yet, how great does he look when he smiles?!!

  1. He is so adorable. It is so wonderful to see him feeling better and happy. The smile just tops it all off and what an Easter miracle he is. You and Stacy are becoming such good nurses, I’ll bet he’ll be going home before you know it. What a long road but finally the turn to home has come. Happy Easter to the 3 of you and what a day of rejoicing it will be.

    Love you

  6. I sure hope the Easter Bunny found Greyson today! We were able to start our beautiful day today by checking in on the hotel computer and seeing Greyson smile for the first time. He is just so darn cute. I could hardly wait to get home and write him that Gram loves those smiles. We hope this has been another great day. God has risen! and has given us such hope and blesses us with his everlasting love. Blessing and hugs to you three.

  7. What a beautiful smile and one worth waiting for! The picture is one of the best and I agree that we would have liked to have seen the mom and dad smiles as well! Happy Easter to the three of you! Enjoy these moments! You all deserve them!!! 🙂

  8. Bob and Stacy,
Happy Easter! Good to hear Greyson is doing so well. Uncle Tom just talked with Papa Gary and it sounds like things are moving forward and home may not be too far off! That is truly wonderful news! We always keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Jenell and the kids are here for Easter and Ben and Cynthia brought the boys over for a nice Easter lunch after Mass. It is great to have the kids around. Remember we think of you so often and thank God for His blessing of Greyson and your beautiful family.
    God Bless,
    Aunt Mary and Uncle Tom
