Ummm don’t those go in my nose?

december-26-024.jpg

Wow what a great day!  Do you notice something different about what Greyson is wearing on his face, or at least trying to wear?  Yes he got to spend a couple hours on the Nasal Canula today.  Most of the time he actually had the prongs in his nose.  Something went a little awry for right before this picture was snapped.  He is naked because in addition to getting to be on the nasal cannula for awhile, he also got a bath today.  Boy did he need one!  I’m not trying to be mean, but he was really getting ripe!  He started throwing a fit as we were getting him ready for the bath, and really started to cry when we first put him in the water.  After splashing him a couple times though he settled right down and enjoyed it.  I’m not sure who enjoyed it more, Greyson or his mom, but it really was fun for the whole family.  Now if only we had a rubber ducky…..

Greyson’s midnight gasses had a higher c02 last night.  It was up to 66 which made me a little nervous.  I was worried he might be starting to trend upwards again.  Not good since he is on the steroids.  My fears were put at ease this afternoon however when his 1pm gas came back with a c02 of 56.  We haven’t seen a c02 that low since he got off the ventilator.  There are other factors with his gas than just the c02, and all of them looked really good on this last gas.  We are very proud of him for doing so well and working so hard at a time when he should still be just chilling inside his mom.

  1. Dear Bob, Stacy and Greyson,

Greetings to you all and a tad bit late “Merry Christmas”. I just have to say Greyson looked very handsome in his new jammy’s. What a cute little boy. We are all so anxious here in Prineville to meet him in person…
Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you each and everyday and we just praise God with you and every day with Greyson…You are all three such blessing to so many of us….
    My love to you all,
    Aunt Sue

  2. Way to go Greyson, you are going to have to figure out that nasal cannula though. I can’t wait to see how the gasses come back tonight. I know you are going to do great. Less than a week and I get to come see you and I can’t wait. You are so big now compared to when I saw you 2 months ago. Life is going to be full of new adventures for you and all kind of fun things to see and do. You sure have a terrific mom and dad.

    Love you Grandma Terry

  3. Stacey, Bob & Greyson,

KJ and I spent part of the afternoon looking through your website from beginning to end. We were especially taken with the comparison between Greyson’s birth photo at 1 lb. 9oz & then 3 lbs. 4 oz. KJ immediately saw the difference in size and said he’d really grown – and now he’s 5 lbs. Wow!

Your upbeat, humorous comments reflect your trust that God is ever present with your precious miracle. We pray for Greyson’s continuing health/growth and we would like to join the hunt for the 700 gram rock. I wonder if they’ll mind us taking them into the grocery store to be weighed [guestimated] in the produce department? Guess we’d better search for a more accurate scale, too.

    Take Care and God Bless,

    Judy & “KJ” Johnson

  4. So remember what I said about the waiting game Bob? Sometimes good things come to those who wait 🙂 I know it is not your favorite thing to do and I must say God has given you a real challenge with this one but you seem to be getting much better 🙂 So very happy to hear that Greysons numbers were better. I was kind of wondering in the back of my mind when Greyson would get another bath….he had to wait 11 weeks for the first one!!!! Im with Stacy on this one too as I always liked giving my kids a bath. Please take care of each other and we will continue to pray for this to be a great day.

    Love you,
    Tam

  5. What a surprise to see the nasal canula instead of the c-pap in the pictures! Good work Greyson!! We are so glad to hear that his numbers went down and will continue to pray that they stay that way! We will make sure he gets a rubber duck!! 🙂 Every little boy needs one of those in the tub!!! We love you three very much and pray for you continually! Thanks again for the updates Bob! You have been so good about keeping us informed and quite the MD!!

  6. We think Greyson is showing off his muscles in this picture. He is showing all of us what a tough guy he is. Of course we know what a tough, cute and lovable guy he is. What a blessing to have better numbers. I hope he can go on the canula more because we get to see more of his cute little face when Dad takes all those pictures. What a blessing this web site has been. We got to tell many of his relatives about it yesterday so you may get some more visits from people you may hardly know. Love to you three. Gram and Papa

  7. Bob, Stacy, & Greyson,

I am so excited to hear and see how much Greyson has grown. Praise the Lord that he gains strength each day and that day of homecoming is in the near future. We are keeping you all in our prayers. Thanks for the updates each day. I don’t look everyday, but am glad to get caught up. May the Lord richly bless each of you and your son!!
