Good Grip!

Today Greyson got two consults.  The GI doc came and evaluated him.  Basically he ordered a study called a ph study (or something like that) where they will put a tube down Greyson’s throat that stops just above his stomach.  This tube has a probe on it that will record all the reflux that Greyson has over a 24 hour period.  It will tell how much he refluxes, how acidic the reflux is, how long it lasts and so on.  After the study they will be able to make a plan for how to deal with it.  This study will be done early next week.

Greyson also got his second consult with the speach therapist.  He was awake this time which was good so she could better see how he was doing.  She was pleased with where he was at and encouraged us to continue with some “excercises” that will help prepare him for eating some day in the near future (we hope!).

His nurse today told us that she put Greyson in his bouncy chair today and he seemed a little uncertain.  So she taped his mobile to a chair and put it over him.  This with his pacifier made for a magical environment that he loved.  Apparently he was quite happy for a long time.

  1. Wow! Greyson is already playing with so many of his toys and if we think about it he really should only be less than a month old. Way to go buddy! We are so proud of you. Looks like he just couldn’t keep his eye off his mom, tho. We will be praying that the doctor comes up with a good plan to help with the acid reflux. As always you are on our minds every moment of every day. We love you all and will be so happy when Greyson graduates from the NICU! Someone has to be the record holder for being there the longest. We are thinking this would be a good time for someone else to win. Never to early to teach good sportsmanship! Blessing today to you three. Dad and Mom

  2. Bob & Staci, What a beautiful little guy. The wisdom of you creating an environment that is familiar with the mobile was a very good thing. Are you sure you’ve never done this before? Thanks for all the updates!

  3. That is so cool!! I am so excited to see that Greyson is progressing in so many areas. God has provided you with so many opportunities to share His love for you & Greyson – How awesome is that??? Hang in there!

  4. We just viewed your video – and wow – good job holding that frog. And a bouncy chair -can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon.

We agree with your Gram and Papa – we want you to graduate from the NICU soon. You can try for fastest crawler or something cool like that when you’re home.

Stacy and Bob – know that you and Greyson are in our thoughts and and that we pray that God heals his lungs.

Good night to you all and rest well.

    Judy
