Silly parents, Dr’s aren’t THAT scary.

Well today got off to a quick start.  Or maybe it was a slow start.  Either way it was certainly a short night (at least for sleeping!).  Greyson was having a rough time.  Just not feeling well and fussing, making noise & general “keep your parents up” stuff.  He did however break out with spots last night.  So this morning we called the Pediatrician (which is the regular Dr. all kids have!) and got an appointment for first thing.  We scooped Greyson up and headed to the Dr’s (we only had 15 minutes from the time we called till we had to be there).  He examined Greyson and we finally know what’s been bugging him all week.  Seems he has hand, foot, mouth disease.  Basically this is a virus that little kids can get that makes them feel bad, then have a fever, then once the fever breaks they break out with a rash (largely on their hands, feet, and inside their throat).

So Greyson and Stacy had to stay home tonight and didn’t get to go to the party we had at church.  He also didn’t get to dress up in the awesome outfit we got him for halloween.  Oh well part of having kids I suppose.  The good news is he has been breathing well through this whole ordeal.  The downside is it can take up to 14 days to get over.  The other good news (I know we are going back and forth, probably cause I’m tired and I’m trying to keep myself awake by typing!) is that Greyson was much more playful tonight and generally acted like he was starting to feel a bit better.

So no cool halloween pic, but at least you get to see him in his halloween PJ’s!

  1. I love this little picture. Even though he is at the drs. this is a really cool Halloween Pic. Those halloween pajamas are so cute. He looks really good in that picture even being sick. He will have to have his halloween costume just a little later. I’m sorry Stacy and Greyson didn’t get to go to the party though, that would have been fun for both of them. Hopefully tonight you and Stacy will get some sleep. I wish I was there to help out, I would love it. Being a long distance Grandma is the pits.

    Love ya Grandma Terry

  2. Poor little guy! Jonathan had that! I believe Teila or maybe it was Aly did too! Yucky stuff! I LOVE his PJ’s. I am kindof a pj person though but I think it is the cutest picture! I would have loved to see him in his costume but I think this is a great pic. Look at him sitting up so big and tall! We just love him! ( I agree with Grandma! I hate being a long distance aunt. I am so much better being hands-on!!)

  3. It is good to know what was causing him discomfort. Maybe he won’t have to have this again. Greyson, you are a very cute BOO! Your pjs look very comfortable, warm and cuddly. Nice to have on so you can snuggle with Mom and Dad. Hope today you are feeling better! Love you

  4. Oh Greyson, you look so cute – even when you don’t feel so good. And of course, we all like your Halloween PJ’s. They look very comfy, too.

And you are sitting up so well. Goodness, you just keep surprising us with all your new skills. Keep up the good work little one.

Take care all. You are always in our prayers.
