Life is good.

Well the only pictures we took today were of Greyson and some visitors he had, DJ and Rachel are the grandkids of Alta one of our nurses (she is a NICU nurse that lives in Bremerton and is doing us a HUGE favor by helping us out and working for us when she can!).  Anyway we didn’t ask if we could put the picture on the internet and we try not to go putting peoples pictures up without permission (unless their family in which case we do it anyway, ha!).

Today when I came home Greyson was in a FANTASTIC mood.  It must have been due to all the fun he had with the kids.  Whatever the case was he was all smiles and playful and we had a great time playing.  Greyson did great with his 15 minute vent vacations.  He is supposed to be awake for them since you naturally breathe more when you are awake but tonight Stacy said he feel asleep during the time but kept his sats up the whole time so she felt it was OK.  I am also pleased to announce that Greyson has been off oxygen since yesterday!  **editors note:  while this was a decision of Dr. Bob it did in fact fall within parameters set by a more reliable Dr. namely Greyson’s pulmonologist.  Dr. Bob is very well aware of the fact that he is not an actual Dr. and should not be making major decisions without supervision!  He may still require some from time to time but so far he is holding his own breathing room air.  In case this is not clear we have been feeding in pure oxygen into the ventilator to help Greyson breath.  Yesterday I took the oxygen away so the ventilator was taking room air and giving that to Greyson.  This makes it easier for him to breath but he is still breathing the same air we are (although its been filtered!).  This is very exciting as it means he is able to oxygenate his blood well and we don’t have to carry around oxygen with us all the time (well we will still carry a bottle with us when we go places as a back up, but before now we carried an oxygen concentrator and a bottle of oxygen as a backup, so we will be down one large thing!)  He seems to be doing so well I just can hardly handle waiting two more weeks to see the pulmonologist again.  Guess I’ll have to though and know that it is all in God’s hands, including the timing of everything.

  1. Wow, that is great news. He is just doing so well and I am like you, I am so anxious to have him go back to his pulmonoligist. The same goes with the nutritionist, it will be so exciting when he starts getting food the natural way, but all in Gods timing. It is especially hard for you Bob as I know how impatient you are, I doubt you got that from me though. ha ha
Greyson is catching up fast now, keep up the good work Greyson.

    love ya

  2. That is so exciting. Greyson seems to be growing by leaps and bounds. I am afraid that he is growing up so fast, that next time I see him, it will be at his highschool graduation. I better come visit soon. I miss you guys. I will call soon so watch out for that. Hope you guys are getting some sleep.

  3. Good job little buddy! Soon you will be without all the extra stuff. I’m so glad you had kid visitors today. They are so much fun. But then your Grandma’s can be fun too! I hope today is wonderful just like yesterday. Maybe someone will take you out side again. Those big trees in your front yard need to be checked out really well. Love you!

  4. What absolutely wonderful news. Way to go Greyson, Dr. Bob and Mom!

You are all in our prayers.

Rest well young Greyson and be well.
