Sometimes it’s good to remember how far we’ve come.

Oops.  Looks like I forgot to do an update for yesterday and if my computer doesn’t stop making this bad clicking noise I may not be able to do an update tomorrow.  It sounds like it is dying but I can’t track down the problem yet.  Hopefully I’m geeky enough to fix it soon.

Man how time flies.  I can’t believe we are almost at the end of May already.  I feel like I’ve lost a year (but I gained Greyson which was MORE than worth it!).  Well yesterday we took Greyson for his weekly outing to a Dr’s appointment (he basically has at least one Dr’s appointment every monday).  This was for the GI.  They said he looked good, made some changes to his feeding recipe, and told us to schedule another visit in 4 months.  We are hoping we can schedule that appointment for silverdale as the Dr comes over once a month.  We’ll see how it works out.  The nefrologist was able to squeeze us in on Friday so we will be running back over to Tacoma then.  They will run a bunch of tests and hopefully be able to provide better input into how to work with his kidneys to keep the fluid off, lower his calcium levels (they are too high again), and help him with the kidney stones all without compromising his respiratory status.  It’s a lot for them to do but that’s why you call them a specialist.

Tonight we have a new nurse here with us for a few hours who is orienting.  She is going to work for us on Saturday nights.  This will be a huge help as that is a night I can’t stay up past 1am or I would be unable to function at church on Sunday.  That leaves Stacy to do most of the night and most of the day Sunday.  So this new nurse will be a huge blessing.  We still have a long way to go to get the nursing hours we need in order for Stacy to go back to work.  So please continue to keep that in your prayers.  We seem to get nursing for days, or nights, but not both, which we will need at the end of summer for the hours Stacy is working.  It’s going to be very interesting to see how God works this all out.  We are still just blown away by the people Stacy works with.  Her leave has run out again but they have sent out another request for others to donate more leave to her and it sounds like some will.   I honestly don’t know how we would have made it through this year if the teachers at her school had not been so generous.  God really does provide and we have to remind ourselves that He knew what He was doing when He blessed us with this incredible child.

  1. What a blessing he is and to look at these pictures, it is amazing how far he has come. God has truly blessed all of us with little Greyson who is not so little anymore. I can’t wait to see him and hold him, just a few more days. I am so glad you are getting another nurse and we will start praying for all of it to come together. What wonderful people those teachers are, I just pray that they will double blessed for all they have done.

Take care and see you soon.

  2. I was thinking on Mother’s Day that Stacy had no idea she would even be a mother last year. You have come a long way. He is growing so fast. We will be praying also for the nurses that you will need to have Stacy go back to work. God is amazing it will all work out.
Glad to hear Stacy is feeling better.

Give Greyson a big kiss from me. Love you all.

  3. Wow!!!! What a miracle that little guy is. I found myself looking at those pictures in pure amazement and joy that Greyson has grown so much and is so CUTE!. We pray that God in his infinite wisdom will finish the work he started with that beautiful bundle of Boy and heal his little body. We praise God for all the wonderful Doctors that are helping. The blog is such a great place to go… to touch bases with the Westfall family, you help to keep us centered and to focus on what’s really important!! Take care of yourselves and thanks to all the people that help you daily. Wow how wonderful for you guys that Stacy works at a school where people are so generous and understands the needs of family. What a blessing!!!
    Love to you all three.

  4. We hear so many negative things in the course of our daily lives, it is so rewarding to hear such positive thoughts and see the generosity of so many. What a wonderful school family Stacy is part of and what a wonderful church family you both are part of. It has been so hard not being able to just come over when I want to. It has given my heart comfort knowing you do have others close by, but know it isn’t quite like having your moms there. I think of your up coming situation daily and pray that God will have just the perfect answer. He sure has been there for our Greyson. I love seeing him sitting up in his special chair. Can hardly wait to see this in person! Love to you three. Hugs…Mom and Dad
