The return of the King

No it’s not just a fancy title for final movie in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, it’s also the update on what is happening at the Westfall’s.  Greyson is home and we are working at getting settled back into home life.  It will take a little bit to get him back into his routine (which he only really got used to for a couple days as it took us a couple weeks to figure out what his routine should be!).  He did pretty well today and only cried a little when he got his shots (yep it was immunization time again) thankfully he only had to have two shots to get him all caught up.  We were able to get home around 1:30 this afternoon and spent the afternoon getting everything situated and put away from all that has been going on.

Last night in the hospital Greyson was working at “swatting” one of the toys that was hanging over him.  He was getting pretty good at taking his left hand across his body (missing the toy completely) and then smacking the toy as he flung his arm back out to his side.  At first this seemed like coincidence that he was hitting it, but after watching him for awhile he was definately doing it on purpose.  The entire time he kept his eyes fixed on the toy and while his movements were a bit jerky, they were definately showing some signs of control (granted it was like controlled chaos which I think is why he did it the way he did).  If he’d try to touch it on the way up he didn’t have the strength to control his arms and ensure contact, on the way down though he had more control to make sure he made contact every time.  He’s starting to learn!  Now if he could just figure out how to get paid for that he could start supporting his parents retirement.

  1. So glad Greyson could come home today! Hopefully he passes the kidney stones without too much discomfort. You three are in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. What great news! I am just home from work, and decided to take a minute to log in and check on Greyson – and it was wonderful to read the latest. We’ll talk in person soon I’m sure. Take care, Alta

  3. “YEA…….I LOVE THE KING” now you tell me what movie that was from? That will be your little homework assignment :). So glad to hear that Greyson is on his way to fame in either baseball or maybe tennis since it is his backswing that is deadly. Look out Agassi here comes Westfall. Have a wonderful day at home.

    Love Ya,

  4. Way to go Greyson!! You will perfect that swing and one of these days you and Dad will be playing and Mom video taping and we will see you on some show like American’s Home Videos. We were so glad to know you made it home and are settling in again. What an awesome God we have who helps you work through all the little bumps in the road. Blessing to you three today! Love Ya!!

  5. Greyson looks quite content to be home and to be the King. It sounds like he might be leaning to be left handed. Before you know it you will have to watch out because he will be grabbing everything, including hair. Lucky for you Bob you will be safe on that one.
I can’t wait to come and play with Greyson, hopefully the stone will have passed and we can have a really good time. See you in less than two weeks.
    Love ya lots!

  6. Good Morning “King” Greyson – what a darling picture.

We’re so happy you’re home and we pray that you settle right in and stay put. We’re also very impressed that you are developing a strong back hand. I think maybe tennis is your game.

To Mom and Dad – what can we say but “Good Job!” Hope the nursing assistance is more frequent so that you both get your rest, too.

Good Morning young Greyson. Have a fun day – rest and be well.

  7. Hi there, I just wanted you to know I love this blog and have checked often to see how Mr. Westfall is doing. I am so happy for you that he is home. He is truly amazing and I hope for you that he is able to pass what needs passed without too much discomfort!! My best to you all…

  8. God Bless the King, and how wonderful he’s home!! I’m sure Greyson is perfecting his swing so some day he can sword fight with his cousins. His look alike, Mason must have 20 different sword to choose from. Love to all three of you, and kisses too.
