ahhhhh tons of toys and good friends, how could it get any better?

Today was a good, but long day.  We were on our own for Friday and Saturday night, which left us feeling pretty tired even though we had help during the day.  Today our NICU friends Jaemi and Ashlie came over to hang out with us and took us to lunch (we left Greyson with his nurse, our first official outing!).  They have become really dear friends and we are so thankful that they have continued to be a part of our lives.

When we arrived home from lunch Greyson’s nurse had linked a bunch of his toys above his swing and he was swinging and having a great time taking it all in.  He was making some great smiles but of course as soon as the cameras came out he gave the famous, “no paparazzi please” look and the smiles went away.  Tomorrow is a significant day as we are going to see the pulmonologist.  Hopefully they will give us a good idea of where Greyson is at, and what the process will be to begin taking the steps to wean him off the ventilator.  Of course being our first visit with him we are not sure exactly what to expect, but they warned us it could be up to a four hour visit.  We’ll see how it goes.

  1. I am just amazed at how much stronger Greyson is looking every day. He is so cute and looks so pleased to be home with Mom and Dad. I will sure be praying for your big doctor visit today and hope all goes well….I think of you all at least one hundred times daily and I want you to remember how very much we love you all…..Aunt Sue (You are doing a wonderful job).

  2. Good for you and Stacy to get out for a bit? Greyson looks great and beings that you are scheduled for a 4 hour doctor visit I probably will not call today as it would be just my luck that I would call right in the middle of your visit. I will be praying for you today though and as always thinking about you. How was the sermon Bob? I will be watchin for it on the web page.

Love you three so very much and keep us posted on what the Dr. says (i know you will 🙂

  3. greyson looks wonderful! i can’t believe how big and strong he looks! i am glad everyone is enjoying having it at home, it must be so nice. 🙂

  4. I think having those nurses staying involved in your lives just says alot on what special people you and Stacy are. We already knew that but it is so wonderful to hear other people knowing it too. Greyson is looking great and I can’t wait to hear what the doctor says today. Greyson has been home 2 weeks now and he looks so good. It seemed so long to get him home and now the time is flying by. We’ll be praying for him today.

    Love ya

  5. I am so glad to hear you all (except for Greyson) got to go out to lunch. I know from talking to you it was a hurried lunch but in time you will be able to relax and enjoy your little outings. How fun to have a nurse who thinks up new things for Greyson to look at and be involved with. She sounds like a keeper. We will be thinking and praying today for a very good doctor visit. I know how anxious you must be. Greyson sure is looking stronger and I think he is getting very smart, not smiling for the camera everytime it comes out. We do like to see those smiles, tho. Hugs to you three from Gram and Papa
