So much to do…..yet I get so sleepy.

Well today was another very busy day.  I woke up this morning to the sounds of a shrieking child (both at 4:30 and 7:30am) and felt like a real parent.  It was so incredibly nice to be able to throw on some clothes (we will have nursing here around the clock for another day, then they will be with us for 16 hours a day so clothing is important) and take five steps to see Greyson.  We are still dealing with getting everything set up which made today very hectic.  We had phone calls all the time, someone from the home infusion came by, we tried to put medical supplies away, gave Greyson a bath (a bit earlier than excpected as I was worried about his trach being a little loose), did his trach care, and now Stacy is holding him in the living room.  While I know we can never have the perfect schedule now, it will be nice once things calm down and we can settle into a routine.  I see this coming soon, but it may take a couple days for all the people involved in Greyson’s life (medical people as we aren’t even talking friends and family yet) to get us “admitted” and everything rolling as it should.

So I don’t have a lot of funny stories for today, but Greyson did pee in his bathtub which was a first.  All we can say is how incredibly blessed we are.  God has certainly been good to us.

  1. Greyson looks so comfy at home. I think he knows where he is and likes it. I can’t wait to come and visit. Until then, give him a hug and kiss for me. I sure miss his cute little face. I hope you guys get things put away and in order.

  3. Bob and Stacy,
So glad to hear that your little man got to come home today! You have had a long journey to get to this point. We are so happy for your family and will continue to pray for continued growth and improvement! Enjoy each little moment.

  4. Sounds as if Greyson had a super day. Sounds as if mommy and daddy had a super exhausting day! But you’ve had super exhausting days for many months, so it must be some kind of wonderful to have one at home with Greyson!

If you need a couple hours’ help with sorting or stacking or whatever I can pop over and help out. I am avoiding calling at this time as I know you don’t need one more interruption. So know you can call me and we’ll work it out. Hugs to Greyson! Alta

  5. I missed checking this site for a few days and look what happened, Greyson is home! That is so awesome and wonderful. Praise God for He is good. A baby’s schedule is always fun to figure out. I will be praying for all of you on that:) Stacy, we are all missing you at work and hope to have that baby shower for you guys soon! Take care, Dawn

  6. Greyson looks like he could get used to this new routine pretty easily… it will be mom and dad that have all of the adjusting to do. I now how wonderful it is for you to have him home and not have to drive a hour just to see him. He looks great and even though it will take time you will get things in order.
I LOVE the pictures but who is he looking at? Obviously not the person taking the picture. 🙂

    Love ya,

    Tam

  7. All I can Say is YIPPEEEE!!!! Just know people are here for you to do anything you need. I meant that months ago…….mow lawns, take the trash down, clean house…….please don’t hesitate to ask. You guys just enjoy Greyson and getting settled in.
    Yippee………….
I look forward to the day he gets to visit SI………
Again, please don’t hesitate to ask.
My number on the SI phone tree.

  8. Congratulations Westfall family!

Yes, we are praising God for his wonderous works – young Greyson is truely a miracle and a cute one at that.

From the absolutely contented look on his face, he must have been waiting to go home right along with you. The pictures are wonderful!

And your comment on your schedule is well taken, given all that you must do for Greyson’s care – but there is certainly no perfect schedule and I’m guessing that even with all you have to do, there isn’t a happier couple.

To you all, rest well and be well and give Greyson a hug from us.

  9. Greyson looks like he knows he’s home and that he’s quite pleased and adapting to his new sights and sounds wonderfully! I really can’t wait to be able to see him in person, and would like to help out in anything that you would need. You know how to reach me. God has been AWESOME to you three.
