So what is the best reward for kids these days? Candy? A trip to MacDonalds? Perhaps a new toy? Maybe for some kids. Greyson however continues to be a little bit different than your average kiddo. Tonight we discovered the best reward ever for him. A trip to Lowe’s to look at washing machines and dryers! I’m not even making this stuff up!

So the video shows him enjoying himself, but you should have seen his face at first. It was hilarious. He had this smile that was like he just couldn’t believe how lucky he was to be surrounded by all these appliances. He had a blast inspecting them all, inside and out!

So about a week ago Greyson saw this elmo balloon in a Walgreen store. After getting it to show him he got all excited and began playing with it, as you can see in the video. Unfortunately he bit it the next day and put a hole in it, making it flat. A few days later he was trying to play with it (nothing sadder than a kid trying to play with a dead balloon!). The best part was when Stacy saw him taking it up to the plug ins and putting the plastic weight that holds it down (when it has helium in it) towards the power socket like he was trying to “plug in” and reinflate the balloon. It was pretty funny. I tried to be the helium for him by holding up the balloon as he ran around the house, but it’s not as fun. Greyson did tell me several times that “that funny” but utimately he wanted another balloon. Since he used his words we went out looking for one even though it was 9:30 at night already. Unfortunately he ended up having to wait a day as there was no elmo balloons to be found at that hour. He has a new one now and is quite happy.

So the other day I was letting Greyson run around and play. He had just left the kitchen and run into the other room. A couple minutes later (I stayed in the kitchen since I was doing the dishes, good husband huh?) I heard a noise. This is what I found when I went to look and see what was going on.
I know he’s not easy to hear, so here are the words to this original song (at least the ones I know). ……something about diapers………All by myself….all by myself…with Jesus ..Lord…praise God….praise God…….oh…..Jesus is the Lord ….

This video is from a few weeks ago when Greyson was playing with an Ipad app called “Talking Carl”. It was pretty funny!

It’s always good to reflect on just how far we have come in the last four years. While I don’t have a picture to compare, or a video for that matter, here is a video that shows that Greyson is working hard on doing things himself. As you can see, he is moving forward in big ways!

Another HUGE milestone has been reached. One I have been waiting for since we first learned we were going to have a child. Yep I’m talking about the day they can actually take on some of the chores! Well today I think we got there. Upon arriving home from speech therapy and shopping, Greyson grabbed the broom and started to work. I’m so glad that I won’t have to sweep anymore now that we have Greyson to do it!
Or maybe he was just making amends for being in trouble. Yes our perfect little boy has been getting into some trouble at school. Nothing too bad yet, but out of three days he has been in trouble twice! Tuesday (the second day of school) when they were heading in from recess Greyson simply turned and walked back to the playground like “no thanks, I’ve got more playing to do!”. Then on Wednesday he had to have a time out for throwing blocks. Ahhhhhh I am torn. Part of me is so excited to know that he is being so active and doing things on his own. Then part of me thinks I don’t want him to always be getting into trouble!
He is definately doing his own things these days. A good example of this is the fact that as I type this he just walked off with the webcam. Not sure who he wants to skype with, or how he is going to do it with the computer, but I better finish this up so we don’t lose the webcam!

Old song but really true. I can’t believe the summer is over. I have been horrible about writing on here, and have missed recording so many things. We’ll see if I can get some things up here. It may happen or not. At least I can try to pick up from here, right?
One of the things we have done this summer is visit a local pool. We became members and Greyson has really taken to it. We are very hesitant to push him since he doesn’t have much reserves when it comes to his lungs, but as you can see he really enjoys the water.

We went camping the first week of August. It was quite the experience. Greyson did really well. I think he thought it was pretty cool to sleep in a tent, watch the fire, and “drink” out of a metal camping cup. Not really sure what he was drinking though……
