Everybody wants some.

june-26.jpgfor-update-june-26.jpg

Greyson just can’t seem to get away from the his mom and dad.  We are constantly loving on him and finding new ways to show him that we think he is the best!  Tonight Stacy was sleeping (or trying to) when we did Greyson’s second vent vacation (we were running late tonight) so I took him over to cuddle with his mom a little while he was vent free.  This other picture is from awhile back when we dressed him up in this great outfit.

He continues to improve and tonight he even sat up for a few minutes on his own (well using his arm on his mom’s leg to help balance, but still impressive!).  He also put his hand on his vent circuit (he does this alot) only this time he yanked down and pulled the circuit lose from his trach.  I think he was reminding us that he’d only had one vent vacation today and he was not in favor of missing out on his second one!

ughhh, mom your still on my pillow!

Today Greyson actually made it to church for the first time (no it’s not Sunday it’s Tuesday).  Stacy decided that she should probably practice loading and unloading Greyson without my help so she loaded him up and brought him down to see where dad goes all day when he leaves.  Of course you have to have two people but we had a nurse today so it worked out (she didn’t help Stacy, but was there to ride in the backseat with him since someone has to be there in case something comes up while driving, like the need for suctioning).  It was fun and he seemed to like it.  He told me I could use some funner stuff in my office so I might have to work on that, but he did like the pictures I had (I have pictures of him, of course, and pictures of my neices and nephew on my wall).  He found my books pretty dry and said I needed more pictures and less words like his Bible has, but overall he said it seemed like an OK place.

Amazingly it’s 9:24pm and he still has not fallen asleep.  Stacy said he was almost out when I got home around 8:30 but he woke right up and we played for awhile before putting him in his crib.  Now it’s almost like he got to worked up or something because he just won’t close those eyes!

I’m all dressed up, lets go out

june-23-004.jpgjune-23-003.jpg

OK so apparently Stacy and I are not the type who never need to go out.  More and more we find ourselves going stir crazy as we hang out at the house (and by house we mean living room or Greyson’s room).  So we are finding ourselves venturing out more and more.  Today we went and got lunch and ate it in the car by the park (we didn’t get out cause that would be too much trouble, but we rolled down the windows!) then we stopped by Pearl’s (a lady from church) and went in and visited with her for awhile.  It was so much fun showing Greyson off.  It was also so nice for us to be able to get out and socialize.  I may have split personalities but I’m still limited in the interaction I can provide.  That is why we love when we can get out (it also works when people come here,  hint hint!).  Have I mentioned lately that we love visitors?  As long as you are not sick you are welcome!

I can’t think of specific examples but everyday we see more and more evidence of how Greyson is getting healthier and stronger.  He now sits (wait this is an example so I guess I can think of one!) on our lap with just a little support and holds his body and head up for long periods of time.  He is still at that stage where if you throw a ball at him it will just hit him in the face (not saying I’ve tried this but……….) but at least now he smiles sometimes when you are doing stuff to……I mean with……him.

Hey girls, check me out!

july-22.jpg

Last night we got Greyson dressed up in some clothes his grandma Terry sent him so that we could get a few pictures of him in it.  He is well on his way to outgrowing it so we thought we’d better act quickly.  Unfortunately he was pretty sleepy and that with the sunlight made it pretty hard to keep his eyes open.  Oh well at least we got a few pictures of him in the outfit (something we can’t say about all the outfits as he is growing too fast!).

So I forgot to mention yesterday that you can all be praying for one of our nurses.  She was unable to come work for us yesterday as she was involved in a wreck.  It sounds like she is OK but her car (brand new) ended up on its side.  We wished we could have done more for her, but we are continuing to pray that she is OK and her car will be able to be fixed up without too much hasle.

No wonder you didn’t want me reading on my own!

june-21-001.jpgjune-21-005.jpg

Greyson spends most of his time in our front living room, or at night in his room.  Lately we have been taking him more into our room to lay on our bed at night if we don’t have a nurse.  That way we can all hang out together and Stacy can try to begin getting some rest (it’s not very successful for her but she still likes it).  Well today we were a little tired (no nurses the last two nights) so Greyson amused himself by jumping up into the recliner and grabbing some reading material.  Well once he read about how the duck likes water he wanted to go see some for himself so we had to take him out to Seabeck and show him the hood canal.  It was almost a problem as once we got there he was completely asleep!  As you can see we finally got him woke up and he seemed to enjoy looking at all the new things.

Greyson also got a package in the mail today with some great new clothes for him to wear  (thanks Fribergs!).  One was perfect for today so he tried it out on our trip.  Fits good with room to grow into which is always a good thing since he has already outgrown a lot of the clothes he has (some before he ever wore them!!).

That’s good stuff.

june-19-003.jpg

Today Greyson made improvements on his tummy time.  He was able to hold his head up and used his arms to support him.  This is exciting stuff!  He was also transferring a dangling toy from one hand to the other, something that is also very good and exciting.  The most exciting thing about the day though has to just be playing with him and watching him smile.  If that doesn’t make you feel good inside you have some serious problems.

Stacy has been doing a great job working with Greyson on all of his “therapies” otherwise known to Greyson as playing.  We have been reading to him more lately and for the most part he seems to really like that too.

The King is in

june-18a.jpgjune-18.jpg

We think Greyson looks a bit like royalty all dressed up fancy for bed.  Today we went to the urologist and had an ultrasound, x-ray, blood lab, and met with the Dr.  Basically it looks like the kidney stone is still there but not causing major problems so we are just going to wait it out and let Greyson grow and get stronger.  We will check it again in six months (providing there are no complications between now and then).  He continues to do well with his 15 minute vent vacations and often looks at us like “hey, no need to put that back on just yet!” when we go to hook him back up.  God is so good and we are so thankful for blessing us with this incredible child.  You’d have to spend some time with him to really understand just how wonderful he really is, so if you are not sick, why not stop by?  Greyson would love to see you and Stacy can always use the company!  **I realize many live in far off lands, but believe me he’s worth traveling for!!  (and he REALLY misses his aunts and wants them to come see him when he’s not sick like last time!)
