Well after getting a chest x-ray and running some labs it was determined that the good news is Greyson’s lungs look good.\u00a0 The bad news was he seems to have an infection of some sort.\u00a0 The really bad news is Mary Bridge PICU is full and can’t take him as a patient.\u00a0 So he was loaded up late last night and taken to children’s hospital in Seattle.\u00a0 They ran some more blood tests (his electrolytes were better by this time), did a trach aspirate (where they check his trach secrections for infection) gave his head a CT scan, and ended it with a lumbar puncture.<\/p>\n

So what started all this?\u00a0 Well I came home from work yesterday and went to change Greyson’s diaper and realized there was blood in his urine.\u00a0 He also had a lot of edema in his groin and his soft spot (or fontanel) was bulging a bit.\u00a0 When I showed Stacy she said she had noticed everything but the blood earlier in the day, but now it was much worse.\u00a0 So we called the pediatrician who told us to go to Tacoma to the Mary Bridge ER.\u00a0<\/p>\n

So after being up all night I just made it home in order to grab some supplies since we had no idea we were going to be readmitted to the hospital when we left yesterday.\u00a0 We had hoped they would simply make some adjustments to his meds and we would be back home in a flash.\u00a0 Unfortunately that was not to be the case.\u00a0 So Greyson will get to check out yet another hospital for a couple days (lord willing no longer than a couple days!) and we get yet another chapter in the saga that is the Westfall’s.\u00a0 Don’t forget that God is good and He is still giving us his comfort, strength, and encouragment as we walk through this new chapter.\u00a0 I’ll try to update as soon as I know something.\u00a0 Thanks for praying for us!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
