{"id":4469,"date":"2007-12-20T20:28:41","date_gmt":"2007-12-21T04:28:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/westfall.raquet.net\/?p=123"},"modified":"2007-12-20T20:28:41","modified_gmt":"2007-12-21T04:28:41","slug":"whats-that-rumbling-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/westfall.raquet.net\/?p=4469","title":{"rendered":"What&#8217;s that rumbling?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/westfall.raquet.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/december-17-001.jpg\" title=\"december-17-001.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/westfall.raquet.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/12\/december-17-001.thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"december-17-001.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hmmmm&#8230;&#8230;it could be the gas Greyson was releasing while we were trying to change his extremely messy diaper (once while my face was entirely to close to him!) but it is probably Greyson&#8217;s stomach rumbling.\u00a0 Why would that be you ask?\u00a0 Go ahead and ask&#8230;..I&#8217;ll wait&#8230;&#8230;.OK his stomach could be rumbling because for the first time in his little life he may be experiencing hunger pains.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So many of you figured out some of the numbers yesterday.\u00a0 For those who weren&#8217;t sure here they are in &#8220;real world&#8221; language.\u00a0 Greyson is now 5 lbs 13 ounces.\u00a0 He is 17.3 inches long.\u00a0 His head is 31.5 cm around (sorry I can&#8217;t remember the conversion on that one).\u00a0 He is 87 days old.\u00a0 Also yesterday his blood gas c02 was 65, although last night it had risen again to 72.<\/p>\n<p>Oh, still wondering about the rumbling?\u00a0 Well today they made a major change in Greyson&#8217;s schedule.\u00a0 Until now he has had his care times every four hours and has been receiving continuous feedings.\u00a0 This means they were pumping food into his stomach all the time.\u00a0 Then every four hours we take his temperature, give him meds, change his diaper, and suction out his stomach to see how much food he had left.\u00a0 Well today they changed his care time to every three hours and are feeding him all of his food for those three hours over the course of two hours.\u00a0 This means he receives food for two hours then gets an hour break to digest it all.\u00a0 The purpose of this is to begin to move him to receiving food as a normal child would.\u00a0 They will continue this process until he receives all his food at one time (well over the course of a half an hour or so) and then works on digesting it until his next feeding.\u00a0 This will alllow him to begin to get hungry and eventually get to the place where he cries to let us know he wants to be fed, just like a real baby.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t be offended we recognize as much as anyone that he is in fact a real baby now, but sometimes we find ourselves talking that way.\u00a0 So we&#8217;ll see how he does on this schedule.\u00a0 If he keeps it up it will be nice for STacy and I as we stayed for two care times like usual, yet are home and it is not quite 8:30pm.\u00a0 This is much better than the 10pm we usually get home by.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hmmmm&#8230;&#8230;it could be the gas Greyson was releasing while we were trying to change his extremely messy diaper (once while my face was entirely to close to him!) but it is probably Greyson&#8217;s stomach rumbling.\u00a0 Why would that be you &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/westfall.raquet.net\/?p=4469\">Read More <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-4469","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/westfall.raquet.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4469","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/westfall.raquet.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/westfall.raquet.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/westfall.raquet.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/westfall.raquet.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=4469"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/westfall.raquet.net\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4469\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/westfall.raquet.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=4469"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/westfall.raquet.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=4469"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/westfall.raquet.net\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=4469"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
