When Stacy and I got to the hospital we started talking about what Greyson wanted for Christmas.\u00a0 He started working really hard to make his fingers into a “w”.\u00a0 I’m pretty sure he wants a Nintendo wii.\u00a0 He probably heard his cousins talking about how they wanted one and now he wants one too.<\/font><\/p>\n

So where to start?\u00a0 OK I said they were going to give Greyson a try on the Nasal Canula last night.\u00a0 Well they did and he made it for the entire 4 hours.\u00a0 They then ran a gas which was better than the night before.\u00a0 This is very encouraging progress.\u00a0 He was really tired by the end of it but today they let him be on it for four more hours.\u00a0 Basically this will be the pattern for awhile and as he grows stronger they will increase the time he is on the canula.\u00a0 <\/font><\/p>\n

After his care they put him on the nasal canula and I got to hold him for about an hour and a half before we had to leave to get back for Bible study.\u00a0 For the first 15 minutes or so he was looking all around and smiling.\u00a0 It was great!\u00a0 <\/font><\/p>\n

Now on to more great news.\u00a0 If you are keeping up you know that Greyson has been diagnosed with stage 2 zone 2 ROP (retinopothy of prematurity).\u00a0 Basically this means that he has abnormal blood vessels growing in his eye.\u00a0 Well the eye Dr. was in yesterday and Greyson now is diagnosed with stage 1 zone 2 ROP.\u00a0 Oh I should probably say that the scale goes from 1 to\u00a05 with 1 being the least and 5 the worst (retinal detachment and no vision).\u00a0 This means Greyson has shown improvement.\u00a0 We still have to watch this but we are celebrating the fact that he is moving in the right direction!\u00a0 <\/font><\/p>\n

Thank you all for your prayers and words of encouragment.\u00a0 We are getting very excited as we are at a place now where we know Greyson is going to come home.\u00a0 To prepare Stacy and I put together the crib last night.\u00a0 Tomorrow we will put together the dressor\/changing table.\u00a0 Everything is falling into place!<\/font><\/p>\n
